President Designer |
What sets us apart from the competition is our people.President: Tim Wedding I was raised on a farm in North Clark County just 2- miles from the current location of our facility. Growing up on the farm gave me a very strong work ethic and being raised by parents that were self - sufficient taught me skills that I refer to as my “Farm Boy Ingenuity” . I was raised to be Honest, Hard working, Loyal, and fair to those in My life, and I hold the same to be true for my family as well as my business. I started working at the saw mill when I was 16, and not long after that I was working in the woods where I excelled and became an equipment operator at a very early age. After working in the woods for a few years I had an accident and my doctor requested to the state that I be re-trained into another field of work, so after doing some testing, and job research we settled on the Plastics technology program in which I received my degree in 1985.
After spending a few years at Closure Tech and being the man in charge and on call 24/7 I decided to look for other opportunities at a larger company, and right away I was hired at View master Toys which soon was acquired by Tyco to be the swing shift Supervisor in Injection Molding. Soon after I started at Tyco I was promoted to the position of plant Supervisor on Swing shift and had responsibility for the Injection Molding, assembly, and maintenance on my shift. There were several challenges and huge changes taking place at Tyco and My shift began to shine after a couple of years of hard work, training, and team work which I facilitated, and my crews implemented. I was very satisfied with my crew at Tyco and proud of their performance, but after 5-years my shift was pretty much running with very minimal supervision and I began to look for a new challenge. I was at a plastics Training consortium meeting when I ran into a guy that I went to school with who was working for Panasonic, and he told me I should check into working with him, and after interviewing I accepted a job as a television assembly line supervisor. The television line was quite impressive, and required total coordination of humans and machines in order to run efficiently, and again after a short time I built a team to be proud of, and my crew did a superb job. It wasn’t long and Panasonic re organized, and I was given responsibility of the injection molding area which had been plagued by several problems, with personnel, as well as machinery, and lack of technical support. The molding shop at Panasonic was the biggest challenge of my career, and again I was on call 24/7 but this time It was calls every night, and all weekend long on top of working 12-18 hrs a day. It was after running the molding department for several months that I decided to start my own molding shop, and to run it properly from the start, as I was getting tired of how slow progress can be in a large company with several layers of management that any and all changes had to be approved by, and so I started a molding shop in my garage in Portland Oregon. Since 1995 my business, as well as my personal life has seen several changes for the better. We have moved back home, and My wife Jenell and I have purchased the back corner of the farm I grew up on, where we designed and built a custom post, and beam home from the ground up. We cut timber, from our place, and milled it on a sawmill I designed and built. In our spare time we love to ride horses, and motorcycles, and I love to spend time in the mountains doing a variety of things such as hunting fishing or just taking in the scenery. To me the mountains are a retreat a place where goodness abounds and the closest place to God a human can be, so therefore I live and work as closely as I can to those mountains I call home, and I tell you this as several people have said wouldn’t it be better to have your business located in a larger city, and my answer is that I’m only 45 minutes from Portland Oregon so if my customers need to come to the shop it’s a good reason for them to drive up the east fork of the Lewis, and put a little R&R into the busy life of the big city, and I would rather work here everyday, and see my customers when I do the deliveries into town. I always have said to my employees that I will give you the tools, and materials needed to do a good job, and its your responsibility to insure that the job is done efficiently, and that a quality product is always produced, and that if you take the initiative to make the most of the resources we have I will share the benefits with all involved which is how we can run a shop as efficiently as we do.
